Long story short(er)…
Founded in early-2015, Skills Aid is a Singapore-based organisation that prides itself on providing world-class veterinary professional education services to veterinarians in the Asia-Pacific region.
Over the past decade, the veterinary sector has has grown exponentially, and seen significant advances made in areas such as surgery and therapeutics. With increasing pet ownership figures and growing interests in animal health, it is imperative that modern-day veterinary practitioners are up-to-date with the latest techniques and treatment methods in the industry.
As an organisation started by veterinarians for veterinarians, our team at Skills Aid recognises the importance of continuing education as a means for veterinarians to improve their technical skills and knowledge, connect with like-minded peers, and advance their careers. Importantly, as veterinarians ourselves, we also understand the challenges faced by practitioners in taking time away from practice to undertake such pursuits.
With these considerations in mind, we at Skills Aid endeavour to collaborate with leading specialists and academics from across the globe to develop high-quality and high-impact learning opportunities for veterinarians. We believe that with better access to educational opportunities, we can make a positive contribution towards raising the standards of veterinary practice across the region, help veterinarians in our profession achieve greater satisfaction in their careers, and most importantly, improve the health of the animals we seek to care for.
Skills Aid was founded to serve the training and equipment needs of the professional Veterinary community throughout Singapore. In turn, the veterinary profession serves pet and animal owners across the Island, so we at Skills Aid can justifiably pride ourselves on serving the citizenry of Singapore, albeit indirectly.
The need for ongoing training and professional development within the Veterinary world has never been more acute, which is why we gathered a team of veterinary experts together under the Skills Aid ‘banner’ to ensure that these needs are met.
All of the team at Skills Aid are dedicated to ensuring that the very best veterinary care is, and continues to be, available to the pet owning public in Singapore. To achieve this, we continue to scour the veterinary world to identify those with specialist veterinary knowledge and skills that our own vet community can benefit from. By doing so, we believe that we are helping to ensure that, no matter which Singapore veterinary clinic you frequent, you can be assured that the staff attending to you are amongst the most highly professional in the world!

Dr Lee See Yang
Co-Founder of Skills Aid
See Yang graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) from the University of Sydney in 2007.
Upon graduation, he returned to Singapore and began his career in small animal practice. During his time in practice, See Yang has developed particular areas of interest in small animal internal medicine, veterinary Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, orthopaedic surgery and emergency medicine. More recently, he completed a course an International Veterinary Acupuncture Society course on veterinary traditional herbal medicine.
Prior to his veterinary degree, See Yang also obtained a Bachelor of Business in Business Administration with Distinction from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and obtained a specialist diploma in Molecular Biotechnology from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
See Yang is currently the owner and practicing veterinarian of United Veterinary Clinic.
Dr Eugene Ong
Co-Founder of Skills Aid
Dr. Eugene graduated with First-Class honours degree from the University of Melbourne in 2011 and practiced for two years at a 24-hour small animal general practice in Singapore.
A strong believer in the importance of continuing education, Eugene returned to Australia in 2014 and undertook a twelve-month emergency and critical care internship at a 24-hour multi-speciality veterinary hospital in Melbourne. Upon completion of his internship, Eugene was retained on staff as a full-time veterinarian.
Since mid-2015, Eugene has been working as a veterinary locum at various multi-specialty veterinary hospitals and emergency centres around Melbourne while concurrently developing course content for Skills Aid.
Eugene currently resides in Melbourne where he is undertaking his Master of Business Administration and Master of Marketing at Melbourne Business School.
Mr. Derek Lim
Permanent part time logistic manager
Mr Derek Lim graduated with a diploma in mechanical engineering from Singapore polytechnic in year 1998.
He has vast experience in the sales line and he currently spends Monday to Friday working as a regional sales manager for EPL Alliance Pte Ltd.
During his weekends, he almost always assist Skills Aid in our logistic matters and he helps organise items to be delivered to our delivery team.
On top of this, he will assist Skills Aid to source suitable venues for our events.
